Great restaurant, great food n great service ......has gotten a little pricey

We had an absolutely wonderful visit here. All of our courses were delicious, with the soups being our particular favorite. Portions were generous and price was quite reasonable. We would happily visit again.

Great service and food! Some of my favorites were the ribs and perch as well as the soups. The French vanilla cream is a must for dessert. Had to take some home to the family and they all loved it. If you're in or near Oscoda, make you sure you stop by and pay Bill a visit in the bar.

You can always count on quality food here. I dont like the fact they close down between 3:30 and 4:30 and only have their lunch menu up to 3:30 which amounts to soups, salads and sandwiches. Their Swiss onion soup is usually awesome but last visit the soup tasted overdone. Service is always very good.

Pretty decent food. I could nitpick but woudnt be worth the effort. Service was way above the norm, abd the drinks were phenomenal (kudos to the bartender). I would definately return.

For Oscoda, it’s definitely better than Wiltse’s. Haven’t been here for dinner, but lunch is great; the prices are awesome. The atmosphere isn’t exactly wow worthy, but service is friendly and I’d definitely be back.

The girlfriend and I had a dinner date night here while visiting family. The food and service was beyond wonderful. Highly recommend!

I've had some good meals here in the past, but lately it's been going down hill as far as quality. The fries with my BLTs are so old, they could be donated to the Smithsonian Museum.

Generous portions! Not many places offer soup AND salad with an entree as well as vegetables and a potato/rice but Tates does! From scratch soups and dressings. WaIt staff and chef knowledgeable about gluten free foods as well! Weekend prime is rib huge!

Great food. Friendly service! Creamy hot bacon dressing in my spinach salad made my day. Yum! My daughter’s crab soup was delightful! Great choice for a tasty lunch!

Absolutely delicious food and beautiful atmosphere. Server was was knowledgeable and helpful with explaining their wonderful made to order food dishes. The crab soup was fantastic! Will definitely come again and highly recommend.

The chef is wonderful and the waitress was very kind.

It was good, fine enough. I ordered the lake Perch and my wife got the steak. The steak was delicious, but a little over done. I got the special soup they have, I forget the name, but it's bean soup mixed with cheese soup, it's really good, I like it a lot. My wife got the lobster bisque which was also excellent, but a little rich to eat a whole bowl of so I'm glad we got a cup.My Perch was overcooked, just a bit too dry and flavorless. The decor is very dated, and the hairdo of our waitress was interesting to say​ the least. Also it was a bit overpriced for what it is I think. Is it good? Yeah. Is it 5 star good like it's priced? In my opinion, not quite. I'd still come again, it's good don't get me wrong, but it's not what I expected and I think they could do with some updating of the building, and reworking the employee handbook.

A small town gem! We stopped in for lunch and ordered the Red Hot Wings - they were truely original. Bill, you were right about the Blue Cheese Dressing, your homemade recipe is the only one I’ve ever liked!

Went there for lunch with a good friend. Had a great meal. It was on Friday, they have there u have to die for cream of crab soup. Everyone who loves seafood has to try this. Lol the soup was the biggest reason I even went it's that good. There millinum soup is awesome also. But I like the fact u can have a half of a sandwich with a cup of soup. It's just right. It's a must go for sure for a good lunch!!

We were there for a private party. The wait staff was great, the food awesome, and owner Bill has a good sense of humor. Will definitely return.

Very friendly. Good food. Good prices. Formal and bar dining available. Has a nice local feel. This is one of those places where they bring over little extras, like they gave us free vanilla cream desert cups (very good) and the server cut up some watermelon for the kids.

Went for my birthday dinner with my wife and loved it! Hands down some of the best food I’ve had anywhere. I had a perch dinner and she had chicken Special. Everything was HOMEMADE, & fresh!From the fresh bread, crisp salads and homemade dressings. The cream of crab soup was the best soup I’ve had. Wait staff was amazing and Bill is as friendly as advertised. We live in Marlette but can’t wait to return for a quiet kind experience. Thank you

Wonderful menu in a historic building. Everything is made fresh. Staff is responsive. Priced accordingly but high if you're not used to the quality provided. The best restaurant in the region.

Great atmosphere and a welcoming staff make you feel appreciated for choosing their restaurant. The food we ordered was delicious. One of the food items we got was the hot, spicy chicken wings. They were exactly that and also had a nice crunch to them. If you like your wings hot and spicy, give those appetizers a go. You won’t be disappointed!

Overrated, and way overpriced for such small portions. I got smoked pork which I think was just processed ham smothered in barbecue sauce my wife got the cod it had so many spices encrusted into it, it didn’t even taste like fish save your money go somewhere else like Wiltsies get a decent filling meal of real comfort food And you won’t feel like you just get ripped off.

Made from scratch recipes that are unique only to Tait’s. The choices are all awesome. Go there. ❤️

Great food! Had the perch n my wife had the walleye (pan fried) and it was terrific. Service was good and prices were reasonable. Definitely recommend.

My husband and I went here for our 17th anniversary and we were so happy we did. Our waitress Kat was the best. Our food was phenomenal. I had perch (best perch I have ever had). My husband had the prime rib and loved every bite of it. To top it off they brought us a delicious berries and cream dessert and sang Happy Anniversary to us. I highly recommend this place !!

WOW! Who would have thought such a fantastic eatery in the town of Oscoda. Food and service were top shelf. Makes me want to come back to town, just to eat here.
